Saturday Update On Dad

We are worn out! We spent the day painting the house and finishing the sorting of letters, pictures, etc. Much of the household belongings now reside in the garage. We contracted to have much of the junk hauled away and Dave found willing dumpster owners who let us deposit the rest. (Thanks to the Lafayette congregation, Starbucks, and a local convenience store for the help!) Karen, Seth, and Nathan made it back to Wichita this evening. Dave, Sally, and Scott will leave in the morning. I am exhausted from painting which is not my strength! We painted half the house and will contract the rest. (Dave, Sally, Scott, and I celebrated with supper at IMO'S Pizza which has incredible food!) I also rented a car today from Enterprise and the first model they brought out had a tire that was 95% flat. (They got me a new one.) I spent some time with Mom who was awake and playing with her two baby dolls. She talked a little and smiled quite a bit. Dad had another good day of recovery. He was able to drink a little bit again in therapy this morning. Tonight, he wanted me to tell him the story of his surgery. About a week of his life has been erased from his memory and he is determined to find out as much as he can about his valve replacement and the aftermath. He commented that he was unworthy to have so much spent on keeping him alive when so much of the world lives in abject poverty. Please continue to pray for us and Dave, Sally, and Scott as they drive home to Wichita tomorrow. THANKS!
God bless,
Steve

I am so happy to get the news about Roger and Nelda. thank you for keeping us informed. I had been trying to reach Roger since his birthday and was beginning to get worried. I guess I had reason. Send them my love.
