Friday Update On Dad

We had a very good day. Mom is back at West County and doing better. Dave and I were able to go with Dad through therapy again this afternoon. The big news is that Dad was able to take his first drink in three weeks! At first, he had to use a teaspoon to take in his water but the therapist, when she saw he was able to swallow, allowed him to take several sips from the cup. Dad said he would never take water for granted again! We got a considerable amount of work at the house as well. We painted and worked in the yard. (Thanks to Terri's dad for helping and bringing some equipment!) Sally and Karen continued the task of going through letters, photos, newspaper clippings, and plaques. We are getting there! I also played catch with Nathan and Seth programmed more minutes on my phone. We had a late Thanksgiving-like supper; Karen and Sally made a terrific turkey dinner! Karen and the boys will leave for Wichita about noon tomorrow while Dave, Sally, and Scott will stay until Sunday morning. I'm here until Monday afternoon and still trying to figure out transportation. Thanks for all your prayers, as always!
God bless,
Steve
