Monday Update On Dad

Karis reported that Dad had a good day. This morning, a tube was inserted in his stomach to help give him nourishment. (I think it had been going in through his nose previously.) According to Karis, Dad is more alert and seemed to hear better today, something that has been troubling her. His awareness level also is going up as he is being stepped down from some of the heavier medications. Karis continues to work on a time line with him as he struggles with the sequence of events. Dad remains in the ICU but will move to a normal room as soon as a bed becomes available! Karis has been reading Dad all the cards and e-mails which he loves receiving! In another positive note, Dad called his granddaughter Karis, something he would not have been able to do last week. Thanks, as always, for your prayers! If you would like to send a message to Dad, send it to karis.hawley@gmail.com. My lovely niece will read it personally! We appreciate all so many do for us!
God bless,
Steve
