In Sync

 In Sync

I think this story from February 8, 2016, is fascinating!

This will make absolutely no sense if you don't watch the video clip posted here or at least the first few minutes. (The picture is from the video.) My brother Scott is a science/physics teacher at Wichita Collegiate School in Kansas, also WCS like us! Scott had this short film on his Facebook timeline and I was fascinated. I always show a video clip in class and my kids were spellbound. One told me he found it oddly satisfying. Thirty-two metronomes, side-by-side on a platform and started randomly, sync up within several minutes. I found myself hoping the one on the outside right would hold out, but alas, it folded. Such is life it seems.

As believers, we are supposed to fight the temptation to give in to the allures of the world and stay pure on an impure planet. There are many verses alluding to this struggle, the best known being Paul's words in Romans 12 and verse 2:
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Our mind has to be right and renewed so we can seek God's flawless will. The battle for our minds is relentless, sometimes subtle and sometimes blatant. The enemy seeks to control our thought processes, rendering us numb to the evils surrounding us. Fight back- our minds are precious! Study and pray and meditate...... but don't give in.

Applicable quote of the day:
“But God has not called us to be like those around us. He has called us to be like Himself. Holiness is nothing less than conformity to the character of God.”
