Winter

Sometimes, I use what my students write in this blog, always by permission. This poem was penned by Kaitlyn, a wonderful and talented young lady in one of my classes, who writes on her own. She has a way with words!

Winter.

The one season almost everyone hates.

The one season where it’s too cold to go outside.

The one season that has an agenda against humanity.

A lot of people say they don’t like Winter

But it’s my favorite season

It gives us a break from the heat

It gives us more time to sleep

It gives us a chance to wear our favorite jacket

It gives us the end of semester one

It gives us Christmas

It gives us the new year

I’ve always had a special connection with

Winter

Maybe it’s because of my brother

Maybe it’s because of my grandpa

Maybe it’s because of my friends

But

Regardless

It’s still my favorite season

No matter how bad the weather gets

No matter what other people say

I will still love winter

It’s the same way with you

I’ve always had a special connection with you

You have brought all

Of these wonderful things into my life

Your personality

Your name

Your laugh

No matter how much you’re judged

Or bullied

Or excluded

You will always have a home with me

In my heart

In the section that is devoted to you

No matter what happens

No matter how you feel

No matter what other people say

You will always be

My favorite person

Just as

Winter is my favorite season

Robin Williams is my favorite actor

Cody Fry is my favorite musician

Percy Jackson is my favorite book series

You are my favorite person And I don’t care who knows

God bless, Steve Luke 18:1
