The Beatitudes, 2012: Closing Comments

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
This is the fifth and final edition of Beatitudes rewritten by my classes. Most of this evening's post was penned by my Gospels' classes, many of whom are sophomores. The girls are in pink, the boys in blue. I think they make great sense in our world. 

Blessed are those who are barefoot, for they will wear Air Jordan Concords in Heaven. –Bryce

Blessed are the ugly, for you are most beautiful in God’s eyes. –Ivy

Blessed are those who are poor, for God will be your dollar bill. –Devon

Blessed are those without homes, for Heaven is the eternal shelter. –Megan

Blessed are those who are short, for you will grow in the name of God. –Jordan

Blessed are those who have struggles, for they understand what it is like to be able to fight through pain and see each way God has made them stronger. –Brianna

Blessed are those who live on the streets, for God provides everyone with Tempur-Pedic beds in Heaven. -Bryce

Blessed are those who love to talk, for God has a patient ear. –Sylvana

Blessed are those who are insecure, for you will see the imperfections God has made in everyone. -Brianna

Blessed are those who can’t swim, for God will be their floatie. -Devon

Blessed are the weak, for your strength will be unmatchable in Heaven. –BJ

Blessed are those who have lost loved ones, for, in Heaven, no one is lost. –Alison

Blessed are those who lose, for everyone is a winner on God’s team. –Nicholas

Blessed are the blind, for you will one of the first to see the pearly gates of Heaven. –Erin

Blessed are those who work at night, for God will always be the light on your road. –John

Blessed are those who are faithful but suffer, for God is the ultimate reward. –Raven

Blessed are those who lose parents, for your strength will grow with God’s word. –Will

Blessed are those who think they aren’t good enough, for God knows you are perfect in your own way. –Chelsea

Blessed are the heart-broken, for God is the master of mending hurt lives. –Gabe

Blessed are the barren women, for they will produce much faith in the eyes of God. –Sarah

Blessed are those who are discriminated against, for everyone is equal in God’s eyes. –Ben

 AND A FITTING CONCLUSION,

Blessed are the inartistic, for they will be a Picasso in Heaven. –Dyani
