Sophomore Beatitudes

Here is another sampling of the Beatitudes, this time penned by some of my sophomore students this week. One of the most difficult aspects of teaching is pushing young people to think on their own and getting them to view the Scriptures in the context of modern life. I find in all grades that many of these short thoughts reflect what the kids have experienced. I hope you enjoy what they say and find your own thinking is stimulated!

"Blessed are those with no dad for the Lord is their father."
Christian

"Blessed are those who don't have a chance because they will find new hope."
Jeannett

"Blessed are single men because God will bless them with a beautiful woman."
Lauren

"Blessed are the pessimists for they will see the good in everything."
Ben

"Blessed are the confused for God will unscramble their thinking."
Hillary

"Blessed are the insecure for God's comfort is everlasting."
Matthew

"Blessed are those with no cell-phone for God will call upon you"
Ayramis

"Blessed are the mute for in heaven, everything they have wanted to say will be heard."
Haley

"Blessed are the shy for they will be the most outspoken in heaven."
Nick

"Blessed are the crippled for they will be free to roam about in heaven."
Bryant

"Blessed are the victims of drive-by shootings for their families will draw closer to God."
Ian

"Blessed are those who cannot succeed for their success is their growing appreciation for the Lord."
Curran

"Blessed are those who keep promises for they will be promised another life in heaven."
Tiffany

"Blessed are the ugly for there are no mirrors in heaven."
Cody

"Blessed are the cold for God's love will keep them warm"
Latreya

"Blessed are those who do not have nice clothes for they will wear rainbows in heaven."
Tobe

God bless,
