Dad had some scary moments this April Fool's Day. This morning, he was put back on the ventilator. Apparently, he was exhaling only oxygen and carbon dioxide was collecting in his lungs. Scott said this is a result of Dad's breathing primarily through his mouth since his surgeries. The carbon dioxide affected his heart rate. A pulmonologist is working with Dad and Scott said he was much improved as the day wore on. Karis reports Dad was resting comfortably and his color was returning. Hopefully, he can be breathing on his own within a day or two. Karis is continuing her scheme to re-landscape the yard. The great thing is, she loves it and we are so much better off with her in St. Louis. Please continue to keep Dad in your prayers as he fights through these setbacks and pray for Karis as she watches over him. Thanks!
PS: I reprinted a devotional entry below from my one April Fool's Day run-in with Dad. I lost.
