Dad was in surgery for five hours this afternoon. The surgeon at St. Luke's removed roughly one foot of his colon. Scott said the doctor believes the polyp mass is cancerous but is also fairly certain he was able to remove it entirely. This could be great news as Dad has suffered from bleeding in the past couple of years in his digestive system. Part of the problem, according to Scott, has been the heavy use of blood thinners for his heart condition and that will be reduced. Dad will be heavily sedated and in ICU for the next twenty-four hours at least. Karis will arrive in St. Louis tomorrow to be with her grandfather. Please pray she has a safe trip and please continue to pray for our folks. I can't tell you how much the e-mails you send for me to read to Dad mean to him. I also forward them to other family members and it encourages all of us! Thanks again!
