I'm back in Houston after fifteen good days in St. Louis. We resumed health care for Dad this morning in a twelve hour shift. He really likes his caregiver, Diane. Lynn, the nurse, tested him this morning to see if his digestive infection has returned. Dad is worn out, perhaps by all the commotion of the past two weeks. This is his first night alone but he thinks he is ready. Tomorrow, the Lifeline Alarm system will be in place in case there is a problem at night. I visited Mom one last time and she smiled and kissed me lightly on the cheek as I left. She was still clinging to the baby doll. It has been an interesting and challenging holiday season for the Hawleys. We have a long way to go with the folks but we are moving in the right direction with the Lord's guidance and plenty of help from plenty of you. Thanks and please continue to keep us in your prayers!
