Dad had a rough day. He was exhausted and very hungry when I spoke to him. The disease specialist concluded that the antibiotic is not working on the bacteria attacking his heart and has decided Dad must be put on penicillin. The problem is that Dad is allergic to penicillin. The hospital has taken precautionary steps to lessen the reaction to the penicillin which I don't think Dad has taken in fifty years. (He wore a Medic Alert bracelet when we were growing up.) The heart specialist is also believing that surgery, though very risky, may be inevitable. Dad was doing as well as could be expected. He did not mention that today was the day he was supposed to go home. Please pray for Dad and our family as faithfully as you have been!

I'm sorry to hear that it's getting serious with his infection. Hopefully he can pull through it.
