I had a good talk with Dad this evening. He said the day started slow but really picked up. His back continues to bother him although I take it that there has been improvement. He likes the food at Surrey Place although he fears the stroke- seven weeks ago tonight- has damaged his ability to taste. The most poignant moment this evening when he wished Mom could come visit and that he thinks she misses him as well. I told him about my speaking in chapel today; he hungers for the mundane details of life outside the walls that confine him. Dad's voice and speaking ability are returning, if not to normal, to a place where he can converse without the effort that marked his initial speech. Thanks for your prayers and keep them up!

yay! i am glad to hear that your father is getting better =]...but will he be able to taste food properly ever again? im just wondering because i do now know what it would if i lost some of my tastebuds =s...anyways i hope that he will continue to become better.
