Friday Update On Dad

The morning's news was positive. Dad was able to speak without slurring his words and could put sentences together. He was also able to walk, while assisted, without shuffling his feet which is seen as a very good sign. Dad's vision and perception on his right side remains impaired. He was nauseous much of the day, perhaps due to all the medications. We are blessed to have Scott taking care of the situation in St. Louis. He is communicating with the doctors and nurses along with the social worker for the best course of action for Dad' s rehabilitation and recovery. We are also very blessed to have Karis with him. She is terrific in caring for and loving her Granny and Grandpa! In other good news, Dave and Sally arrived at the Namwianga Mission in Zambia today, exhausted but elated to be with Meagan! Thanks for all of your prayers, e-mails, calls, etc. The love so many of you have for our folks is overwhelming. I will try to add a daily update. In a related note, Scott feels it's probably better to call him on his cell phone than directly into the hospital room in case Dad is asleep. If you need that number, please e-mail me and thanks once more.
God bless,
Steve
