My blog for eight nights in a row comes from one of my favorite people, Trina Agee Cornell! I met Trina 20+ years ago doing missions in Honduras. We've tried to hire her at WCS but the Lord is using her in St. Louis. She is a terrific wife and mom and disciple of Christ. Keep me in your prayers as I continue my work in Vietnam!
Good morning, everyone! I hope this finds
you blessed and thankful - this new day is a true gift from the Lord. The
best way to thank Him for it: live this day for Him. I love these
words from Lamentations - the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His
mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning - and His
faithfulness is great. Yes and amen.
Lysa TerKeurst is one of my favorite Christian authors - I have had the pleasure of reading one of her most recent books entitled “I’ll Start Again Monday. This book, through the vein of healthy lifestyles, focuses on craving God above all else. In her book, Lysa reminded me of a beautiful truth - we were made for more. This statement unlocks great power for us as Christians - the power that rose Christ from the dead is the same power that lives in us! We need this power to help us make the changes we need to make on our journeys. There are moments where we may not feel this - but we must remember that we have this power, and it is ours!
Ephesians 1:17-19 tells
us to:
**Be persistent - We must ask God to join us in this journey.
**Embrace a true identity - We are made for more because we are His children. We have our own lists of who we think we are - and God has a list of who He says we are
**Find the deeper reason - The real reason for embracing our true identity is “so that you may know Him better”. This is less about our issues and more about truly connecting with the Lord.
**Discover a hope and power like no other - We are made for the same hope and power that raised Christ from the dead! What beautiful truth!
Friends, you were made for more. Tap into that power from the Lord - and let the world see His glory through you.
Which part of Ephesians
1:17-19 resonates with you right now?
Blessings, Trina
God bless,
Steve
