Choices! (Trina Agee Cornell)

My blog for eight nights in a row comes from one of my favorite people, Trina Agee Cornell! I met Trina 20+ years ago doing missions in Honduras. We've tried to hire her at WCS but the Lord is using her in St. Louis. She is a terrific wife and mom and disciple of Christ. Keep me in your prayers as I continue my work in Vietnam!

Good morning, everyone!  I hope this finds you doing well and having a beautiful day!  I am from the Midwest via Nashville, TN - and we are in the thick of summer weather!  It stayed in the 80s for most of June, but things turned on a dime in mid-June.  We have had our first few days of 100+ degree days - thank goodness for the air conditioning!

I am a teacher on summer vacation - most days, I could not tell you the date, and sometimes, the day of the week.  Even though school is over, things are still quite busy at my house.  I have two precious boys: Connor, who is “four and three quarters” as he would tell you, and Nathan, who is now eleven months old.  Our home is teeming with LEGOs, costumes, diapers, stuffies, and Cheetos - and I would not have it any other way. In the midst of this busyness, I have found so much contentment - and so much joy.  I am choosing not to let my to-do list rule me - I choose to be content (and be still) in this season, knowing that the Lord is faithful in all things.  I also choose joy - because it can be found in each and every day.

Tell me this - what do your mornings look like?  Do you hit the ground running, start looking over your to-do list, and plan your day?  Do you take your time getting up - and let the day play out on its own?  I have found myself in both of these modes recently - at times, I start the day so quickly, I look up, and the day is half over.  When I start slowly, take time to process, and let the day play out, things seem to move at a better pace - because I feel more connected to God.

God desires to live in connection with us, friends. His love for us runs deep and wide.  He does not desire that we live this life separated or isolated. This is why the church is so important - the body of believers that are there to encourage and support us. Connection with the Lord is a choice - and choosing to stay connected to God and others can be a tremendous battle.

I pray that you find a small part of your day today to connect with the Lord - I promise you, it will make all the difference in the world.  Blessings, Trina God bless, Steve Luke 18:1
