More Sequels To The Prodigal Son- Lizeth and Carson

Here are several more sequels to the Parable of the Prodigal Son which was the essay on our Gospels' test last week. Lizeth and Carson are both juniors and great young people!

Ten years has passed since the younger son left and returned. The son now has a wife and young kids. Unfortunately, he still wanted to live the life of drinking and partying- he didn't want to take care of his family. So, one day, the wife left the younger brother, took the children, and went to his older brother to seek shelter. The older brother agreed to let them stay with him. (The older son had a better house that the his brother did, anyway!) When he discovered that his wife had left to go and stay at his brother’s home, the younger son got really mad! He decided that he wanted to fight his brother. Both brothers had been drinking before they fought. The older brother won the fight and the younger brother was put in jail for a long time. While imprisoned, he once again repented of his sins. The older brother visited the younger brother in jail and kept him up to date about his kids and how much they were growing! He even told him that his wife forgave him!

After the party ended, the older brother took his share of the estate and decided to do what his younger brother did before- he ran away. He did this because he saw how his other brother could disobey their father and still be rewarded - even the father realized it. The dad became angry with his reasoning, but knew he would still love him. The younger brother felt guilty and went out to search for his brother. Since he had already ran away from home before, he knew exactly where to find his older brother. When he did find him, he convinced him to come back home. The father was waiting outside again and welcomed him with open arms! There was a reconciliation- he knew better. He knew he should be the role model for his younger brother and not the other way around. The father decided to not only throw a party for the older son, but for both of his sons! They had both come home. Carson
