Akhil's Battle With ALS

When  my folks lived in St. Louis, they became friends with a wonderful couple in their congregation, Akhil and Laura Jhaveri, and their children. In the summer of 2011, Akhil was diagnosed with ALS, often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease. They have a website chronicling his fight with  tremendously astute observations. How does the typical normal Christian family handle catastrophic illness which comes, from our limited perspective, out of nowhere? On the most recent post, there is an eight minute video documenting Akhil's life, narrated by Akhil with thoughts of his daughters interspersed. I would plead with you to take the time to watch this clip. You will be amazed as Akhil faces his circumstances with faith and expounds on where the Lord is during all of this turmoil. And Lord willing, we will get down on our knees to pray for Akhil and Laura and their kids, as well as thank the Lord for our own health.
