Haven On Earth
My devotional tonight is about my niece, Meagan Hawley, the daughter of my older brother Dave and his wonderful wife, Sally. Meagan, a middle school English teacher in Oklahoma City, has given four years of her life to taking care of orphaned and abandoned infants and toddlers at the Namwianga Mission in Zambia. Meagan has prayerfully decided to return to Zambia long term, to the little ones who love her so much. Meagan, pictured above with her babies , is an angel of mercy to those who have little hope and love on this earth. Indeed, the mortality rate is staggeringly high as 1/3 of the babies are HIV positive. In the video below, Meagan explains why she is returning. Don't be surprised if you choke up. The applicable quote of the day comes from her blog. Please keep Meagan, her family, and especially the children in your prayers as she becomes a mother to the motherless.

Applicable quote of the day:
"Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they are not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes."
