The Beatitudes, 2012: ACT II

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
 Last night, I posted a number of Beatitudes rewritten in 2012 eighth grade logic. Tonight's edition was penned by my Gospels' classes, most of whom are sophomores. The girls are in pink, the boys in blue. I think they make great sense in our world.

Blessed are those who are single, for no one is married in Heaven. –Kaylan

Blessed are those who don’t make wide receiver, for God will always catch you when you fall. –Dominique

Blessed are the poor, for your money will be nothing in Heaven. –Wanlisa

Blessed are those who lose their phones, for God is the only contact you need. –Matthew H.

Blessed are those in the military who don’t get to see their families, for you will get to watch over them every second in Heaven. –Britney

Blessed are those who can’t shop, for God will provide you with everything you need. –Talghin

Blessed are those who are not rich, for you will be abundantly wealthy with the joy of God. –Nickie

Blessed are those who are weak, for God will be your everlasting body guard. –Chris

Blessed are those who are lonely, for you will be surrounded with the love of God. –Victoria

Blessed are those who don’t have a set place, for you will be safe and secure by God’s side. –Deiondre

Blessed are those with ugly toes, for everything in Heaven is considered beautiful. –Hadiya

Blessed are those who are dumb, for God will grant you the IQ of a genius. –David A.

Blessed are those who have failed, for you are able to understand success. –Jill

Blessed are those who are old, for your wisdom is beyond its years. –Kyle

Blessed are those who fail, for your faith in God is what passes you. –Francie

Blessed are those in need, for you will not want for anything in Heaven. –Paul

Blessed are those who are hard of hearing, for God hears your praises the loudest. –Lilly

Blessed are the unsatisfied, for God will satisfy you beyond demand. –Demoi

Blessed are those who feel neglected, for you are always on God’s mind. –Emily
