I flew into St. Louis at 3:30 PM and went straight to the hospital, joining Dave and Sally. (Thanks to Kevin Leahy for picking me up.) Scott and Karen, Seth and Nathan arrived almost simultaneously. We stayed with Dad until 9:00 PM and left him to rest. He was able to open his eyes a number of times and mouth words to us. We want to make sure he knows how much we love him. Cecelya and Sandy will arrive on Saturday morning. Cecelya's children, Shanna and Shawn, are flying into tomorrow from Japan and Alaska. Dave, Scott, and I met with the ICU physician and she very kindly walked us through Dad's condition and the options we face. I again was impressed with the level of care and concern showered on us by the staff at St. Luke's. I can't tell you how much we appreciate the feelings expressed by so many of you in support of our family. A special thanks to the brothers and sisters at Lafayette for their faithful help in our time of deepest need. Thanks for all of your prayers.
