Dad was almost euphoric when I talked to him tonight. His therapy went extremely well and he remains hopeful of leaving the hospital soon. Adding to his elation was the fact that he gained a new roommate today who seems friendly. The roommate has already had visitors, who if I understood correctly, live in Houston. Dad feels he has made a connection. Loneliness can attack even when you are surrounded by more than a thousand people in a modern hospital. Dad is still getting around with a walker which he suspects is to protect the hospital should he fall. His voice and reasoning continue to get better. Thanks for your prayers!
God bless,
Steve

PS: Please pray for Rachel Hanson's mother, Mary Forehand, as well. Rachel and her husband, Wes, worked at Westbury Christian for several years when I came and now live in Oregon where Wes is a preacher of the Gospel. Mary is being tested the next three days in Methodist Hospital in Houston for ALS and the family, understandably, is tremendously concerned.
